Ok so we're trying to clean up our house for people to look at it and we're trying to do it fast cuz we already picked our house. We're trying as hard as we can but my mom can't seem to just chill. Today i was helping her clean windows and she kept putting me down. she kept saying i wasn't cleaning fast enough, and she kept yelling at me. How can she be so nice at one moment but then be so bad that you have to storm out of the house and scream in the middle of the street? If she wants help then she need's to be nice about it. am i right?
Is she going through metopause or am i just not seeing something?

You had it right the first time: she's stressed out. Be patient with her and don't take the put-downs as personal. You know she loves you and really appreciates your help. Tease her about it and she'll probably realize what she's doing.

the condition of cleanliness of a house says alot about a woman, and your mom would rather die than have someone that possibly she knows find a lost dust bunny somewhere in a corner. i know exactly how she feels. my house stays nice, but if we have guests coming (especially guests that will stay the night) my house has to be sterile. floors, dust, all linens clean, windows, there can be NO dirt found by others. just deal with it for now. you will understand when you have your own place sometime. do a little extra than she asks now and then, point it out to her and explain that you are just trying to help.

You're seeing things quite well. She's stressed, she's out of time, she's frantic, she wants everything done yesterday. Answer her stressed-out meanness with niceness. "We're all kind of tense, Mom. I won't take it out on you if you don't take it out on me. After this window why don't you have some iced tea and I'll do the next one?"
