Im originately from Chicago. I moved to Oklahoma for college. I dislike it very much but I deal with it to be with my sister. Her and I are 8 years apart. And she left to the USMC when I was about 11 and was stationed in Japan for about 5 years. We never really got to be there for each so I thought this was the perfect way to make up for the time lost. [This was her first time being back in the states within the last 8 years.] I haven't lived at home for the last past year. Now my sister got an awesome job in Chicago and we are moving back. I'm super excited but my problem is my parents want us, especially me, to move back home. I love my parents deeply but I want to live with my sister. My parents are EXTREMELY over protective. My mom said I need to be with them until I get married. My dad said they need us financial and why pay rent to someone else. Ive told them in every way possible. I dont want them mad @ me! What other way can i tell them I want to live with my sis?

Keep it cool, calm, and collected. Don't overreact when they disagree with you; just tell them your reasoning for wanting to live with your sis. They love you; they'll understand. Even if they do get upset with you, the whole thing will eventually blow over. No worries.

Jen,
My attitude with telling people things is just to say it and mean it by taking action and live with the outcome.
It is obvious that you won't be happy staying with your parents so just tell them how you feel about it.
One more thing if you are not of the age to make this decision for yourself then obey them otherwise make a decision and stick with it.

Just be honest with them and tell them that at this point you really just want to live with your sister and be on your own. They should be able to respect that and understand you are an adult.
