He'll get more than the average share of vitamins. Puppy food has an extremely high caloric value. The puppies use most of the calories to just grow larger. The puppy needs the puppy food but your pit will weigh 80 lbs. soon if he doesn't stop chowing down on his little buddies dinner.
Separate them for meal time and pick up the pup's food if he doesn't eat it all. Don't let your 2 yr old turn into a porker, it's harder to get the weight off than it is to gain it.

He will get the extra vitamins the puppy needs. He may get a little fat from the puppy food. Dry food is better for both dogs. As a breeder we feed a lot of our dogs puppy food so the moms got extra nutrition. If you want the grown one to eat the regular food just keep the puppy food away from him and when hungry he will eat. The puppy food will not hurt the grown one.

THe protien and fat level for a puppy is much different than an adult dog (check the labels on both bags), so I would not give an adult dog a puppy food, you can double check it with your vet.

no it is not okay. his kidneys will, no doubt about it, fail if you LET (because obviously you're not doing anything to stop it) him eat the puppy food. Feed them at seperate times. If he refuses to eat see your vet, or just wait him out.

Also the only food you should feed any pet is science diet. if your REALLY want to now why (though i doubt you care soooo much about your dog if your retarded enough to let him eat that) than email me.

sorry if i sound like a *****, but hey the truth hurts.

I would mix the two foods. that way there both getting what they need, but it wont kill them either way. I had cats that grew up on dog food there entire lives and they were healthy cats that lived to be 15 and 16 yrs old. they just prefered the dog food :) I mean the ingredients dont varry so much from bag to bag that it would seriously hurt your animals if it were just for a shorter period of time.
