i think it is up to the person in question who they live with we cant choose who we fall for. i hear this so often that parents dont like daughters boy friend or other way around and it gets to me. Leave them to make up their own mind and just be there if they need you. if a daughter/son is happy is that not what we want for our children to be happy so why mess with it.

As a parent and grandparent, I can tell you the hardest thing in the world is to sit back and watch while your kids make a mistake. But if they're over 18, there's not much we can do. The way I see it is, why destroy a relationship with my kids just to impose my opinions on them? It's their lives and they'll have to make thier own mistakes. I did.

It's not that they are trying todictate or tell them what to do. Friends and family have sometimes gone through some of the things that the person is going through and just want to lead the person "down the right path". Ultimately the person has the make the decision.

I don't know. My oldest sister thinks she knows best for just about anyone she meets, let alone me! Such people are dangerous. In a perfect world, I'd make such people live all together on an island to see which bosso supremo won, leaving the rest of us alone in peace (LOL!)
To Joy Full: I do not share information but my sister spies anyway, having even called a former boss on occasion to get the lowdown, and has said that she's within her rights in such cases because I am "weak" and she's not.

Just look around Yahoo Answers! There are a lot of people who think they are experts on everything. Why should family members be different.
Everyone thinks they have the answers. Some don't have a filter.

i see it a lot too and i think its just that there not happy with their partner and dont want anyone else too be happy either

I agree. It's really annoying to have relatives interfere in your life. If you don't want their input, don't give them information.

here's you a big hint you don't know everything.... Mom and Dad know you better than anyone eles in this world and I don't know about you but they mean more to me than some girl........
