Please answer this question thoughtfully. Dogmatic rants are not productive. There are many expressions of the devine source and I would very much enjoy hearing your thoughts.

Dear Sean,

with all due respect...you are joking?
I hope so.

I am very well informed about your church and it's beliefs. I am also quite fed up with your missionaries at my door and accausting me on the street.
They generally seem to have very little respect for the word no.

I have none ex members of your church and heard many testimonies about its internal affairs.

I have very strong prayers. Very strong faith. Not in your beliefs however.

I have gifts that my Creator blessed me with and through my prayers I was given guidence regarding your founder and your church in general. He sat in a dark room writing at a desk. I was told a great deal about him and his intentions. None good. All that I heard in that dream long ago has been confirmed.

I suggest you addopt a truer form of Christianity and become a Catholic or Anglican perhaps.

I have always dialed direct to the devine or in your limited comprehension of it...God.

You are not addressing the question. The question attacks no ones beliefs and is open to all. Everyones thoughts here have been appreciated whether I agree with them or not.

I don't even see your contribution as a defence of your faith, just very unfortunate.

To honestly answer that, we have to look at what the Bible says. In the beginning God created Adam in his likeness and Adam was a male. The Son of God is God in the flesh and Jesus was a male. Born of the virgin Mary, as far as I know God created us to reproduce by one man and one woman. Seeing Mary is the woman, it's an interesting thought to ponder. And God is many times refered to as the Father not only by followers but also by Jesus. Kind of makes you wonder where the phrase "Like Father like Son" came from. Even with all that said, how can anyone but God or Jesus know other than when we get to heaven?

I believe God does not have a gender ... in Genesis, the first telling of the story God creates Male and Female in God's image. The Aramic word for God Allaha does not have a gender at it's root. There are several places where God is described in feminine imagry (God is like a Mother Eagle).
When the Bible was written Women did not have societal power, so no one could imagine a feminine God -- those days are gone, and God can be reflected in all our images.

From my understanding and praying God is a man in gender. He loves us and wants us to experiance having children as he has. My church believes that his wife does exist but her name is never been mentioned because of the way that people defile names LIKE jesus christ is often used in that demeanor. He holds her in very high regard. As the men in the church hold there wives in the most high regard.

I am Mormon and it made sense to me through there doctrine that this is our chance on this earth to preform and show God how we would preform if we were givin the chance to be like him.

If i were you I would call the LDS church in your area and have the missionaries come over and do a couple of lessions with you to better teach you these eternal truths.Dont look for mormon info on anti mormon websites they will only misslead you. If you dont know, you can pray about these things and ask god in the name of christ if they are true and I promise god will prompt you in the right direction.

God Bless and good luck

No gender in God!

But God is and was and we try to figure God out.

Our minds could not understand God even if we saw a documentary on what God is. Humans have not been programed to understand God as of 3/19/2007. Maybe someday we will be allowed to see and know God and I guess that is; if we get to Paradise.

Gender is a grammatical term. The gender of g-d depends upon the language you speak. In most languages that I know, G-d is either masculine or neuter gender.

OTOH, if you are speaking about the sex of G-d, He has none - He is not a human, He is G-d. So, you ask, why am I saying "He?" Because, in English, (and in all languages that I know), the masculine gender is used to refer to a noun that is either neuter, masculine, or mixed gender. Therefore, G-d is a "he" grammatically, but without sex.

Sorry it took so long to post - but the oven buzzer went off, and I did not want to burn the food. Bet you got plenty of answers while I was serving, hehe

I wish God had a gender to make our lives much easier. But really, I think that if he can create so many great things, he can be whatever he wants. I think that it is far below God to stoop down to such a level as to be a tangible thing. Thats why Gods creation into man is so amazing. It demostrates his love for us beyond anything we can imagine. I think that since he "created us in his own image" that he would look like a human being. He created us, so he knows the best way we can work. But to give God gender would be kinda unessessary. In the bible it says he is our "Father". The Head of the family. To be a tangible gender would be kinda uneeded. At least I think so.

There is only one God, and IT is genderless. Within the world of God are many planes with their individual lords or rulers. Gender is an attribute of the lower worlds (of duality) where something is recognized by its opposite, for example light/dark, hill/valley, male/female.

To what use would gender be if God can create with mere thoughts? My point it really doesn't matter. Just like the issue of race but rather the knowledge wisdon that he gave us to recieve.

Attributes of God make it clear that He cannot be taken into any of these categories.Genders were created for the multiplication of the particular species. He does not need multiplication, because it the requirement of mortals to leave someone to complete their agenda.
