Better to use a flea comb to get rid of the little buggers!

There is NO flea shampoo that can be used on a puppy under 8 weeks old. Check with your vet about Advantage I believe that it has been approved for younger pups. If not, then you will just have to pick them off by hand and drown them in rubbing alcohol.
Using any of the available flea remedies before your pup is old enough can send him/her into toxic shock.

You should never use any flea product on an animal less than 12 weeks old .This one needs to be addressed to your vet as they have access to safe products on such a young animal. You should never bathe a puppy or kitten at 5 weeks old.You run the risk of the animal getting pneumonia, due to their inability to maintain their body temperature

I dont think I would be bathing a 5 week old puppy yet...Go to the pet store and talk to the owner who should be able to help you with some kind of product to use...Maybe you could get some advantage for that age bracket..That keeps the fleas and ticks off for a month.

Its not safe at 5wks, to use any kind of shampoo on a puppy, you have to wait until they are at least 8wks. I would either use a comb or, take him to a vet!
