The only legal way would be to open up a hunt club and then have farm raised ones. Where you can buy them I don't know but then when your members come, you put some pheasant in one of your fields and then you let the members go in the field with a guide that you hire Then the hunt begins!

Well, firstly, it wouldn't be legal, it would be poaching. Secondly, why on earth would you want to catch a live pheasant? However, in the spirit of Yahoo Answers - if you really want to catch a pheasant, read Roald Dahl's "Danny Champion of the World" which is a great read for kids, although I can't personally endorse the poaching methods!

If you trap Pheasant and don't have a hunting license..your cooked.

I know a few Southern Boys here in Georgia that trap Pheasant.

The dig a hole and loop it underneath like trap box. When the Pheasant walk in and under into the hole they stay in and won't come out.

You just reach your hand in there and grab them.

You would need a live catch trap with corn or wheat as bait, if it is on your own land it is legal as long as you don`t kill it or cause it suffering, game keepers all over britian are catching up bids for breeding next years game. If it wasn`t for them pheasants would go from our countryside.

piece of long fine string threaded with sweetcorn placed at 18 inch intervals. tie one end to stake pheasant will eat along string and when reaches stake find itself caught. and yes illegal as pheasants are game, have a season that is closed now and you dont have a license but hey it has never stopped me. good luck.

soak raisins in alcohol overnight then scatter them where you know there are pheasants, wait a few hours then return and pick up the drunken birds. This is an old poachers trick, unfortunatly illegal, so please don't try this at home.

Why do you want to?
I think in general they are the property of the queen so 'no' it wouldn't be legal.
How you catch one - the only thing I can think of is the trick from a film where they sowed crushed up sleeping tablets into raisins and feed them to the bird - but I have a feeling that may kill them if they were greedy and ate too many.....
