My friend is going over on holiday to the U.S. in June and I've asked him to bring me back some food that I'm curious of or just miss. I've asked him to get Oreos, Twinkies, Cap'n Crunch and Lucky Charms which used to be sold here in the U.K. I miss them so much!

My question is - Is this possible? Are there are any laws that would stop him from bringing these back to England with him? I think I've heard that fruit, veg and meat is not allowed or is a lot of fuss to bring over. But is this the same for the products I mention above?

Thanks for any help!

P.S. Are there any other food products that are equally as good or better than the ones I mention, and not sold here, that I could ask my friend to bring over?

One of you should talk to the airline he is coming back on. I am a missionary and Im allowed 70 pounds of dry food checked seperately into the luggage area. He needs to get a good plastic storage box that has a snap lock on the top and then take a roll of duct tape to check in with him, after they have inspected it they will allow him to tape it securely. This was on Delta.

Im sorry I dont know what they sell there, but with the wide variety of nack and cerals we have here he should e able to find a lot of things.

I just recently brought hot sauce back from Central America in my checked luggage (because it is a liquid) and a few years ago I brought my British friend back goodies from the UK (smarties, oil & vinegar chips).

It appears to depend on the food item and where it is coming from. See the website below for specifics for the UK.

I think that as long as it's not perishable like fruit, veg, meat, you should be OK (except for the nutritional contents).

How about Moon Pies? Tried them? They are pretty good in the microwave. Kind of like a s'more.

Why don't you have them shipped? It would be a shame to get them confiscated at the airport.
You sure do like sugar!!

He could pack them in his checked baggage, or to be safer, he could just ship them to you.
