A good friend of mine asked me out a while ago on the same day as ANOTHER good friend of mine. I mean, I kinda thought it was a bet at first, but they don't know each other.
I am really not into the whole 'going out' thing, actually I'm not that into males. How can I let them down gently without losing our friendship? I don't want to hurt anybody....

:) I can't tell them I like girls. You know how dudes are. They'd tell their friends + so forth.

just say that your not really ready for anything like that yet or you could just use a blunt no that works too.

Tell them that you care about them but not as anything more than friends (friend for a guy is basically a death sentence but there is no other way) Say that you aren't ready to get into a relationship of anything more than friends with anyone (a lie or not). Say that you still want to do the same things as before, ask them if they are ok with it. Mind you guys have a different way of thinking so being friends is usually not good enough. But sometimes it is. So I would try your luck, rejection is hard gentle or not!

With your additional comment, I agree telling them won't solve anything. If they are good enough friends they willllearn in time. Telling them that you don't like guys might have the unwanted effect of them believing that you are a liar and just pushing them away. And yes guys are ***** sometimes and gossip is another problem you want to avoid.

Again I want to emphasize that you need to tell them something. Don't let them think about it too much, giving a quick response can help them avoid unwanted negative thoughts. I mean when someone is taking a long time to give an answer its never good. It lets soeone think of the worst possible outcomes and it can destroy a person waiting for an answer that they want to hear soo badly!

There is no nice way of telling someone you don't want to be with them. You just have to tell them and make sure to include a reason so that they understand fully. Good luck.

Rejection usually always hurts, especially when you put your heart and pride on the line by asking someone out.

Just let them know that you appreciate their friendship, but you don't see them in that way.

Thank them for thinking so highly of you and then tell them that you think too much of them and value their friendship way too much to chance ruining it by having a relationship

tell them that you are greatful that they have the courage to ask you, but say that you want to stay focused on your studies (if you go to school) or your work (if you have a full time job), instead of going out. then ask them if you can still be friends. 60% of the time......it works everytime!!!!

Offer to play ball with them or go to a football match with them. Do something to show you are one of the guys.

Just tell them that you enjoy their friendship to much to loose it!

Just say your friendship with them is friendship only, & you are not ready to start dating yet. Or just say thanks & your flattered, but you have a good friendship & dont want to ruin that.
