I wanna be part of the militaries infantry. but I have a problem deciding between the 2 branches. I'm looking @ 11B for the army and rifleman 0331(i think) for the marines. what are the differences between the two and does one branch learn more than the other?

well 0311's have the 13 weeks at parris island and then also have the 50 something days at SOI (school of infantry). I dont know about army but my boyfriend enjoys being a grunt, says he wouldnt change it for the world. I guess brotherhood is what Marines are most known for. So really consider what you want, If you do Marine bootcamp and dont like it there you can transfer without having to go through bootcamp again.

The army bases their infantry tactics on large scale armored warfare, the Marine Corps is built around the infantry, armor in a supporting role. Army infantry operates in larger units and is equipped for longer deployments. Marine infantry conducts most of its training on a team/squad level and focuses on the special operations aspect of infantry, Military operations on urban terrain, amphibious raids, close quarters battle and marksmanship

marine infantry is 3011. I don't know about the army. In the marines you train, party together. they become your brothers. willing to do anything for them. and they will do the same for you. they were the tightest group of friends that i will ever have.

Every Marine is a "rifleman first"... The training you will receive in the Marine Corps exceeds that you would receive in the Army. For instance, minimum rifle range qualifications just to make it through USMC boot camp meet those of Army Rangers. There are some of the PT requirements at Army basic training that I hear exceed those of Marine boot camp... don't let that fool you into thinking Marine boot camp is easier, though. It's 13 weeks of blood, sweat, and tears. In the end, though, you will have earned the title Marine... and nobody can ever take that from you.

The marine mos is 0311. Every marine is an infantry first. I don't know about the army, but I suspect a grunt is a grunt.
