Millions of illegals for each ICE officer maybe? With the current staffing and funding levels for Immigration and Customs Enforcement it's a bloody wonder they can still function at all!

Have your friends report the suspected illegals to the State Police for fraud, at least stop them from getting benefits they are not entitled to.

Is it possible that the ICE officers DID do their job, by investigating the allegations, finding that they are without any foundation and closing the case? Not all "Hispanic looking" people in the USA are illegals. Could it be that the system is working just fine and that you are ... WRONG in your assumption that these people are here illegally?

Those who know me here know I don't like illegals, but I also don't like idiots who see an illegal every time they see a Hispanic looking person! They could be here legally as a citizen, they might have a valid visa, H*** they might just be Native Americans!

Suspicion is one thing, proof is another! Either prove that ICE isn't doing their jobs (by showing that these suspects are in fact illegal aliens) or STFU. Innocent until proven guilty is the base of our legal system, and should be extended to every person in the country.

Ornery is absolutely right. As for "INS" (which hasn't existed since 2002) not doing it's job, how about these statistics for a woefully understaffed and underfunded agency?:

In 2005, in summary:
• DHS apprehended more than 1,291,000 foreign nationals. Eighty-five percent were natives of Mexico.
• There were 9,874 criminal arrests and 6,763 convictions for immigration-related activities including financial enforcement, human smuggling and trafficking, general and criminal alien enforcement, identity and benefit fraud, and compliance and work site enforcement.
• ICE detained approximately 238,000 foreign nationals.
• There were 208,521 foreign nationals formally removed from the United States. The leading countries of origin of those removed were Mexico (69 percent), Honduras (7 percent) and Guatemala (6 percent). More than 965,000 other foreign nationals accepted an offer of voluntary departure.
• Expedited removals accounted for 72,911 or 35 percent of all formal removals.
• DHS removed 89,406 criminal aliens from the United States. Nearly 77 percent were from Mexico.

Let me take a wild guess. Could it be the big business in America is so fond of cheap labor that they have instructed their lobbyists to instruct our government officials that cheap labor is good for America and subsequently good for the political war chests of the bought off politicians. If this is true, then a phone call to the INS by these officials would effectively turn the heads of the INS while 12 to 20 million illegal immigrants cross over our borders. I know of no other plausible explanation.

Why can't the INS do their job properly? Because all of the money is going to the stupid war that we are unjustly in. There is enough money going into the war to fund thousands more INS agents. Think of how much better they could do their jobs if they had the man power to take care of business. . .

What we are seeing is our laws are slowly being eroded and are becoming meaningless. The ACLU continues to use taxpayer money to sue Americans over enforcement of immigration laws. Our laws becoming meaninless. They just don't care or want to be bothered with it

Its not the INS any more, now its called the USCIS.

They aren't doing their job properly because they're a government agency. Name one government agency that does.

DEPORT ALL ILLEGALS!
