Even evolutionists have vast misunderstandings about evolution! We all are human. When many Christians actually become Christians and accept Christ, I doesn't mean that we are perfect here on earth! It is our repentance and acceptance of Christ that is our salvation and lifestyle. Even so, both Christianity and evolution are religions.
In Christianity we believe that God created the Earth. We have no scientific proof of that fact and we never will. We take it by faith, believing this to be true even though we can’t prove it or have seen it happen. The idea that God created is outside of the realm of natural laws and would fall into the category of supernatural or miraculous. Because of this belief, Christianity is called a faith based religion.
In evolution people believe that life just happened. They cannot tell you where all the matter in the universe came from. They will trace it back to a big bang, but cannot give any scientific explanation for the origin of matter. They believe that some day science will discover this, although right now they have no proof, they take it by faith that science will discover this. The idea that life can somehow come from non-life (the primordial soup) is out of the realm of natural laws and would fall into the category of supernatural or miraculous. Because of these beliefs, evolution must then be a faith based religion.
Here are some questions that you can consider.
1. Where did matter come from?
2. Can life come from non-life? If not, how did life come from the primordial soup?
3. Has there ever been a mutation which had more genetic information than the originals?
Prove it, or ask another question.

Sounds to me like you answered your own question and want people to agree that Christians are simple minded LOl. Who is this question for :D
Anyways to the answer: No I dont believe Im simple minded and weak because I have faith in a God that im forced to believe is there without knowing for sure.
Evolution is about adaptation and change. God created everything. He gave them adapation and to change. to control there life. Sure things adapt. God might even help them adapt. But theres no way a fish is going to turn into a plant. If things Evolved then why isnt there edvidence of things deevolving. Also Their is a scientific thing about things will always go towards choas. to believe that something could evolove intelligently and perfectly when things degrade and lessen around us is not intelligent.
Lost points for God YAy LOL

No, I think it is for the strong and intelligent it is much more difficult than being oh lets say a Atheists which takes no strength or intelligence. I have no misunderstanding about the theory of evolution, I don't believe it is as sound of a theory as the Big Bang theory. I understand the bible just fine also. I think you are very narrow minded to even state this question as you have.

I am Christian, and I kind of laughed when I read "mini" interpretation.
But I disagree with you. If it were clear to me that non-believers as a whole had a better grasp of the Bible than say any of my Christian friends then I would think you could claim lack of comprehension, or misinterpretation.
But I am not convinced of that.

a bit of a loaded question.
I know many religious people who are not stupid nor weak. And I know atheists who are weak and simple.
But it seems religion has a lure that is stronger for the average and below average intelligence group, or at least, so it seems to me. And some of the concepts of evolution and quantum physics are, I'm afraid, very counterintuitive. Blame evolution which has so firmly tied us to our 'normal' scales and dimensions and timespan ;)

Yes religion is for those that are wrapped up in superstitions, or those that want to be told what to think.
It's sad really to think that anyhone could be happy with ideas that aren't even there own or original for that matter. Kinda like basing your life on a second rate superman.

Dear Chloe,
You are tough on those "Church Christians". I suppose I should define why I am a Christian. But, I will spare you the boredom and simply say that I understand evolution both in its generic application and somewhat its biological process. I am sure we all, from time to time, misinterpret others and have trouble understanding ourselves et al.
Now, in regards to the Bible ("their book"). The Bible depicts itself as a history of the Jewish bloodline from Adam to Jesus. It is very similar to my family genealogy. It has a few interesting stories and a few words of wisdom from our loving ancestors. I try to live my life by the words of Jesus as quoted in the Bible, but I am suspicious of all other verses.
Basically, most of the verses in the Bible were put there in order for the Religious Empires to control their memberships. Jesus verses are an exception to that rule.
It is obvious that the Bible is not the word of God. It is a book about people who have been inspired by God, not inspired by God, and some who thought they were doing what God wanted them to do, and then of course those who simply wanted to control others in the name of God.
However, there is one overall theme of the Bible that is noteworthy. "Harmony is harmony; disharmony is the only sin against God".
I am very suspicious of any verse that does not advocate harmony.
smiles --

Not all religious people are anti-intellectual and anti-evolution. Many of us believe evolution existed and still exists and that the scientific findings prove it. I went to a Christian college that taught evolution as fact. Not all Christians are bible thumpers. Many of us have decided to keep our brains, stay enlightened and keep our faith at the same time. I don't find science and religion at odds, quite frankly.

Where do people get the silly idea that religion has anything to do with simple-mindedness or intelligence? A lot of people with Ph.D.'s are highly religious, and there are people that barely passed high school that have no religion at all.

How typical of people who have no belief in God. Are you taught this attitude in school or what? To believe that millions of religious people are simple and weak minded just shows how small minded you are, or insecure. We all know that insecure people have a need to put others down who are different than themselves.
