Yes, you need certain colors of ultraviolet light on your skin, and this is most commonly available in sunlight. Fifteen minutes of sun exposure are enough in most cases, way less than what it takes to give you sunburn. Read from the following, copied from the George Mateljan Foundation page on Vitamin D:
--(copied section begins)--
Homebound individuals, people living in northern latitudes, individuals who wear clothing that completely covers the body, and individuals who always use sunscreen or work in occupations that prevent exposure to sunlight are at significant risk for vitamin D deficiency.
In northern latitudes (above 51° latitude), in spring, summer and fall, we can make vitamin D from exposure to sunlight (15 minutes, 2-3 times per week is all that is needed), but in the winter we cannot make any. Below 35° latitude, vitamin D can be made year round. But at higher and higher latitudes, our ability to make vitamin D gets more and more seasonally limited. At about 51° latitude, we may go 3 months without being able to make vitamin D. At about 71° latitude we may go more than 5 months. African Americans need significantly more UV exposure to produce adequate vitamin D. This is because darker skin contains more melanin, the pigment that gives skin its color, and the higher melanin content in darker skin reduces the skin's ability to produce vitamin D from sunlight. Throughout the U.S., as many as 30-50% of African Americans may be vitamin D deficient.

Your body does make vitamin D from sunlight. The only things to consider are the older you get the less efficient the body is in making it and the darker your skin the more the sun is "blocked".

At my college they do no longer enable any form of makeup, no nail polish, no foils or changing hair coloration, no hair clips that are actually not at school colours, no ribbons or headbands that are actually not at school colours, no caps, no singlets/spaghetti straps or sandals/turn flops/uncovered shoes on unfastened gown days & no rings as properly a watch and a crucifix and 2 hoop or stud rings. ^^ besides the certainty that, human beings nevertheless do those issues all of the time. you in straight forward terms might desire to be careful around specific shitty instructors. yet they're the regulations, so if the instructor needs, the can permit you realize to take that something which you're actually not meant to have on, off. Which i think is somewhat ridiculous. human beings must be allowed to placed on what they desire in college, as long as they're wearing the uniform as properly. Why does it count in the event that they have painted fingernails? How the hell does that impression the faculties image? Its bullshit. guy, I hate some instructors alot. they only desire capacity, and extra capacity. faculties run in f'ckin dictatorship style. those regulations are somewhat pointless. EDIT: On 2d thoughs, I hate losers who die their hair warm pink. i might kick them out of my college too. i think of there must be sure limits, i think.... ok, I provide in. There must be *some* regulations on hair colours and another stuff...
