anyone from outside of the Watchtower organization is `Of The World` and therefore of the Devil.

I don't know about their current leader - but in the past, yes.

Even now, they have 'issues' with those from within their group having much to do with someone that isn't part of their group.

I read up on the group when my son decided to marry a woman that was a former JW. She doesn't go to any of their meetings any more. She got a divorce from a man that cheated on her and didn't work and spent all his time in topless bars.

My son had never been married before.

They still come around to try to get her to leave my son - who not only supports her, but her 3 children as well. Doesn't cheat on her - treats her like a queen. Because he isn't a JW - they have - - whatever they call it when they disclaim someone from their group. Some group, huh?

MsV is rather full of it, or believes anything a woman says, simply because she's a woman. How many times I've heard men say, "I didn't abuser her like her ex-husband did, so why is she claiming this against me?" I ask them how do they know what the ex did? Their comment, "She told me all about it!" Well, not she's telling the next guy about you. I can only imagine what she will say about your son when she's done with him.

As for the world, that is a term used by the Apostles, in reference to their brethren Jews, whom they were telling were no longer the blessed people of God. Does that mean the Jews are also of the Devil?

More to be specific, they are people living in the shadow between the light of Christ and the dark. Not quite completely in the light to make life less fun, but enough to claim you are in the light.

As for spokesman, every active witness is a spokesman, as they are all taught the same, unlike other religions where only the elite know the whole story about what goes on behind the parish doors. In the witnesses, everyone attends the conferences, not just the upper class elite. And anyone, witness or not, can tour the society headquarters, and even see the residence building. No big fancy homes for the governing board.

Yes, I knew a lot of JW's once (nearly married one) and one of the teenagers came to me and asked me to go to social services with her because she had made an appointment but wanted some support. (she wanted to go into foster care because she was being abused by her JW family).

The JW community decided I was in fact 'the devil' because I accompanied her to this meeting with social services.

This poor young JW ended up being sexually abused by her grandfather, made pregnant at the age of 15 by a 21 year old JW and then forced at the age of 16 to marry a 38 year old JW who would 'look after her' because the boy who had got her pregnant had been disfellowshipped (kicked out of the religion) and she wasn't allowed to contact him again.

Her JW brother, who was 17, got his non-JW girlfriend pregnant (she was also 17), and he was disfellowshipped and not allowed to visit his mum and dad anymore, although his non-JW girlfriend was encouraged to visit his mum and dad so that they could see their grandchild!

So, as you can guess, I really didn't mind being called the devil by these people as they had obviously lost the plot! - So glad I didn't marry into that family!!

JW is a made-up religion whose doctrine has constantly been modified since it's establishment. It's simply another cult....or an off-shoot of a religion based on a flawed, man-made book.
