i just received my class ring a few weeks ago and i think i may be starting to break out on the finger i keep my class ring on.... i already knew i was allergic to nickel, so i had it made with this metal called palisil, hoping it was nickel free.... i don't think it is.. but my question is, is there anything out there, like perhaps a coating or polish, that i could put over the bottom of my class ring to keep the nickel from getting to me? anything at all?

I am allergic to nickel, I had to get my wedding band and engagement ring made without it. I coat the button on my jeans with clear nail polish, but it needs to be reapplied constantly. Better check with a jeweller. You may be able to rhodium plate it (40-50 bucks)

You need to contact the manufacturer. Palisil is only made by:

Most stainless steels contain Nickel as part of the alloy. I can't find anything on the Palisil alloy, but I'd just assume it contains Nickel (or Cobalt, another allergen).

If your is reacting, it's for a reason, so respect that and toss the ring.

Clear nail Polish! I'm allergic to nickle also, and I do the clear nail polish all the time. You know they say that if you are allergic to fake jewelry, that you are a princess!!! :) good luck baby.

Clear finger nail polish can even do the trick, but you'd probably have to reapply it often.

nickel is a known caricinogen (cancer causing agent), added to the list a few years ago by our gov't. (way before that in europe). gold is best for a ring.
