I love some of these answers . . . "You don't know evolution do you . . ." Yeah, like they know . . . . . . Riiiiiiggggghhhhhhttt!
I think God created them male and female just so there would be no evolutionary explanation for two genders!
I love your questions!

Since the division of the sexes predates human evolution it wouldn't be something that occurred as a special favour to us (but people are always thinking that there's something special about humankind...)
It's possible that species evolved into separate sexes at some point in the evolution of the barnacle. Barnacles are mostly asexual, with male and female parts, but for efficient reproduction it's better for the male to reproduce with the female part of another barnacle. Later evolved species indicate that part of one barnacle separated from the asexual version into an exclusively male barnacle that could reproduce with a number of female barnacles.
That barnacle consists almost entirely of penis. In fact of all species in creation, size for size, the barnacle is the most well-endowed.

What the hell? You don't understand what evolution is, do you?
One offspring, doesn't matter the gender, had a genetic mutation that bypassed the systems in place to prevent mutations, and this anomaly was favorable for their survival and procreation, and so was passed on.
Evolution doesn't happen one gender at a time. It happens to a species as a whole- an entire selection of a population becomes "polluted" with the mutation through thousands of generations of breeding.
Eventually, if this continues for some time (and the two groups- original and mutated are isolated from interbreeding enough) then a new species will have evolved.

Do you realize dmlk2's answer makes no sense at all? Sexual reproduction had to have a starting point; it couldn't happen with a group and not an individual.
Acid_zeb's answer, "The evolution of sex is a subject that still requires much research" is a very honest answer; they don't know.

while you are trying to troll and attack evolution again, you actually ask a really interesting question.
The evolution of sex is a subject that still requires much research. Of course, this never means god did it, unless you are happy with a god of the gaps, which will rapidly diminish to nothingness.

You will note that there are still species that do sexless reproduction, and lots of hybrid forms. Whatever it takes to get those genes to survive, sparky.

No, "evolutionists" (where do these words come from?) do not assume that. They do assume you have a basic education before trying to understand something.
A species does not suddenly pop out of the dust fully formed. That is why it is called evolution.

Yes, they do, as that is how it works with every other species. And we shared a common ancestor with monkeys, we did not EVOLVE from monkeys. Also, radiocarbon dating works, there was no flood, the earth is 5 billion years old, and it's depressing how foolish most of the people on yahoo questions are:).

Man evolved from a handful of red dirt. But the breath of God really got him going. The woman evolved from his rib. And the breath of God got her going too.
Then they evolved into best friends. Then they got romantic, then became one flesh again. And a baby happened. Then they evolved to be nurturing to a weak infant... From there, things just kept evolving.

Good question. When I invent the first Time Machine, and travel back in time, I'll let you know what I discovered by closely watching the mating habits of your prehistoric ancestors.

Evolution is an ongoing process in life, constantly occurring that involves reproducing.
I really wish you people would get a remedial science/ biology education worth a scrap.

I do not believe in the theory of evolution, but, neither could evolve anywhere without the other. I think.
