The Council of Nicea decided not how the Bible would be put together (Mainly speaking of New Testament, since OT was already in place), but also decided which books belonged in the Bible.

There are a whole lot of books, including various gospels, that were not included.

There's also the Dead Sea Scrolls, containing writings that are not included in the OT.

They are not necessarily in order, btw. Job is believed to be the oldest book. Mark is believed to be the earliest written gospel.

The Old Testament was placed in order by the Jewish elders at some distant but unknown time. The New Testament was forced down the throat of the Council of Nicea by Constantine, the Holy Roman Emperor, and Iraenius, the Roman Pope of the time. They jointly told the Council that THIS was the only "official" Bible, and any other was to be burned.

i observed 2 issues that rather stood out for me. First, as has been already observed, the clause approximately changing something refers specifically to Revelation. in spite of this, that's placement on the tip accomplishes 2 issues. a million) It mirrors extra heavily the format of the OT, and 2) It delivers a climactic end to the entire tale. 2d, your source for the chronological order of the bible is in straight forward terms a sprint off. for occasion, the Gospel in accordance to Luke and the Acts of the Apostles is somewhat one letter. hence, once you are going to study it chronologically, you ought to study Acts before the different 2 gospels. or maybe that's assuming the historians have the dates best. there remains some debate approximately that. besides. to respond to your question, no, it would not make any distinction.

God did, but if you understand the Bible, it is not in the order of which you would think it would be. :o) Do a study on the orders of the books of the Bible. You would be amazed at how much you will learn by doing the different combinations.

The Catholic Church compiled the Bible. They took the inspired writings of the Gospel from the evangalists and made the New Testament. The Jewish elders did the Old Testament.
