Anti histamines are usually prescribed for the treatment of hives and should clear up in a day or two.

Camoline lotion. It works for chicken pox, it also does something with hives--by cooling the itch and medicating the problem areas.

I've had hives before, and it's just a simple allergic reaction to something you've worn, or a change in the environment inside and out.

Sometimes, I've broken out in hives because of hot weather. And just that.

Other times, it's more like an allergic reaction to certain soaps, chemicals, and laundry detergent.

The best thing is benedryl. It can be effective in lessening the external rash and provide relief.. Oatmeal baths for itching. Monitor why someone would get hives. Make sure it is not an allergic reaction to new meds, food allergy, ect. If you get difficulty breathing go to the ER.

Time, and allergy medications.

It usually depends on what causes the hives in the first place.

Oatmeal in the bath tub then use Calamine lotion along with real Alvera staight from the plant, if the itching is real bad try using Benadryl at night time.

Either go to your doctor and see what he has to say, or take some Benadryl or generic equivalent (diphenhydramine, I think it's called).
