I don't wanna be a cornball ya know. But if it so happens that prom time comes and I don't have a date, would it be that bad to just go alone and have fun or not go. Especially when almost everyone is gonna have a date? Most of the guys I meet are just imature or too freakin old like mid 20's to 30's and I'm still in high school so that's not gonna work. And then the guys around my age are so childish or really short like little boys, ugh! it's so annoying. But anyway would that be corny or not?

I think you should! I missed a lot of fun at my junior ring dance because I couldn't find a date. I think it's totally socially acceptable and like the other person who answered, I think you might just end up having more fun!

i have the same problem, sorta.
all of my guy friends in high school already have dates, and the only other guy friends i have are all older than 20 and would not want to go to a prom.
Thankfully, tho, my best friend and I decided that if a month before prom, neither of us had dates, we would be each others dates. that way, we could still all have fun, and we wont miss out on prom.
prom is a big event in high school that everyone looks forward to. its not something you'd want to miss just because you dont have a date.

Nope (not corny!)!!!
I went to prom without a date as a junior, and I loved it! My friends and I just went together in a group and we really had a great time. I can't imagine a better time!
There's no stress, nothing!
I would have rathered that to the two dates I DID have that ended up being stressful and pathetic.

You should definitely go single if you cannot find a date, but you might want to find some single friends to go with to make it even more fun.
It would be silly to miss out on your prom just because you do not have a date.
To answer your question, no it is not corny at all. There were plenty of people at my prom that went "stag" to the dance.

You will dance and have fun
You will take pictures
You will smile alot
You won't get stuck with going to some beer and puke party afterwards.
You won't get stuck with walking home because the "little boys" can't deal with their testosterone.
You will have more fun than most
You won't feel obligated to "swap spit" with some immature creek.
Finally, I will be able to hold your head high when the girls ask who you came with and you say, "Oh. Nobody you would know, self-respect."

No, do whatever you want. If you feel truly uncomfortable, ask the most bearable guy. Guys in high school are pretty insecure and may wish they had a date to prom, but don't have the balls to ask.

Heck no! Going stag (without a date) is by far more fun. Get a gang of friends and all go stag together. You can dance with whomever you want and not feel compelled to hang out with just one fella.

not at all just go and have fun. better yet go single with a group of friends you will have a great time together. you could also find a single guy while you are there and dance with him.

No i whent to the prom with just a bunch of friends if anything it is better because you dont just have to stay with one person and you can do whatever you whant.
