About 1 month ago, I had surgery. I knew I was going under anestheisa and I had this idea, that when I was under I was going to have this great big conversation with God about my life here and what was going on. I felt that such I would be anesthesized, I would be in the in-between state of earth and heaven. I went under with the intention of having the talk. I woke up what felt like.... immediately and was upset because I don't think I had the chance to talk to him like I wanted to. Do you think that maybe I did, but didn't realize it? I know this sounds like a stupid question. Sorry.

I dont think the other people realized what you meant or didnt read it all the way.
I thought it was a very interresting idea. Your pretty smart :D Like dreams we have at night and dont know about it is possible that you talked with God and forgot about it when you awoke. I think this is an interresting question. But It could always be happening when you fall to sleep too. Is it likely? probably not but anything is possible :D

GOD will Talk with out having to go Through all of That.
But, some have built a Very Strong House inside, full of Traditions and Erronous Thinking.
SomeTimes, anesthesia will get that Person "Outta their House" and then they can Start to Experience Things they don't normally Believe in. Like GOD Talking to them.

Because Children have not Bulit much of a House (Belief System) when there Young, They can more Easily Discern Things that Older People have "Thought Away".
Yeah, GOD probably Talked to ya. Why?
Just Because You Wanted HIM To.
Hope this Helps.

Actually you probably already had it. The problem I think, is that we expect some distinct answer spoken in English which will either answer our questions or give us direction.

I think God answers us in the voices and faces and circumstances that surround us. Watch and listen closely. When I do this, I often find I get neither a desired nor anticipated response, but at least for me, I have no question but that the answer is divine.

In a dream-like state, anything is possible.

When I was undergoing surgery once, I dreamed that I could fly like Superman. However, when the anesthetic wore off, I realized that what I had dreamed - wasn't real.

Yes, of course you did.

Now you will be lucky for the rest of your life.

All you have to do is make the right decisions, based on the best information you can find, and trust your heart.

Good luck.
