Earthquakes don't cause changes in landmasses, they are an effect of changes in landmasses. The tectonic plates move about, and as they squish into one another, earthquakes are the result.

Find some books on tectonic plates at the local library for your report and go from there.

Hi. Earthquakes are usually caused by the slipping of tectonic plates past one another or subducting one under the other. The later forms mountains and volcanoes.

Something to do with the continents were all attached billions of years ago. Then earthquakes caused them to seperate...
