Some people told me they needed more details so here it goes. I have liked and flirted with this guy ever since me and my ex broke up on my bday. My ex and I are now able to talk and joke and be civil to each other, but I don't know what to do. The guy I like is my ex's best friend, but I don't know if that would be a problem. He doesn't seem to care, but I need some opinions if we should go out and what I should do to get to that point. I really like this guy a lot.

Well, theoretically there shouldn't be a problem if your ex is out of the picture. But if you want to pursue a relationship with this guy, ask him upfront to clearly define his relationship with your ex. If he can separate going out with you and still remain friends with your ex, then pursue it. But if he feels influenced somehow by your ex and that relationship would cause a strain.....then forget it.

It's not you in this case but how he feels, being caught between situations. If he can separate that, then it should be cool.

you are just moving on.

it should be ok if you guys go out. it would be weird yes, but it shouldnt be a problem. it seems like you n ur ex have a freindly relationhship already. the only thing is, make sure that he would be ok-at least by letting him know that you are interested in his bestfriend and that you would like to get to know him better. i think thats the best thing you could do on his part. as for the guy you like now, spend more time with him to really get to know him; become really good friends. then you can really move on.
