I have filmed short videos - 3 minutes each - on my digital camera (not digital DVD), and uploaded the videos onto my computer in order to burn them to CD. My computer doesn't have a DVD burner, so I am using CD-Rs. They hold 700 MB. The video file is 350 MB.

When I open the folder where the video files (AVI format) are stored, there is an option in the margin that reads 'Copy to CD.' I click on that, and a baloon on the taskbar reads 'You have items to burn, etc.'

When I go into that folder, on the left there is an option: 'Write these files to a CD.'

Halfway through the burning process, I have an error screen popping up that says it cannot complete the burning process and that my disc may no longer be useable. I have been using blacn CDs with enough room to hold a video file, but they will not burn, and the CDs are left un-usable.

What can I do to get these on a disc? Please help!

The drive is probably corrupt or broken. Also, if you're trying to make this thing play on a DVD player for your TV or something, simply putting an .avi on a disc isn't going to work. DVD players handle MPEG or DivX formatted discs. The burning process is way different than just putting files on a disc. You can, however, still put video on CD's, just in lesser times/qualities than DVD discs.

This sounds very very corresponding to a in demand difficult tension failure. undesirable sectors on a disk could be merely that, undesirable and the restoration you describe above can restoration them. in spite of if, undesirable sectors is often led to do to a terminal blunders on the platter of the difficult tension. that's often led to by ability of assorted issues yet is greater complication-free in Laptops by way of fact the foremost reason are the examining heads of the difficult tension colliding with the exterior of the disk. this could take place initially as undesirable sectors yet with straight away become worse by way of fact the undesirable area of the disk gets bodily larger and larger. you ought to attempt doing an entire re-setting up of XP, wiping the triumphing setting up yet I strongly suspect that this could merely be a non everlasting restoration. a clean difficult tension is the only specific hearth scientific care.
