There is no mystery, the Almighty God could not have failed, whereas the Son could have failed, sacrifice would not have been any good if someone had give their life as a ransom and could not have failed. Jesus as a perfect son of God, just like Adam could have failed, but he did not. There is no "trinity" you have a Father, and you have a Son.

‘But isn’t Jesus called a god in the Bible?’ someone may ask. This is true. Yet Satan is also called a god. (2 Corinthians 4:4) At John 1:1, which refers to Jesus as “the Word,” some Bible translations say: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” But notice, verse 2 says that the Word was “in the beginning with God.” And while men have seen Jesus, verse 18 says that “no man hath seen God at any time.” (Authorized or King James Version) So we find that some translations of verse 1 give the correct idea of the original language when they read: “The Word was with God, and the Word was divine,” or was “a god,” that is, the Word was a powerful godlike one. (An American Translation) Clearly, Jesus is not Almighty God. In fact, Jesus spoke of his Father as “my God” and as “the only true God.”

Did Jesus ever say that he was God? No, he never did. Rather, in the Bible he is called “God’s Son.” And he said: “The Father is greater than I am.” Also, Jesus explained that there were some things that neither he nor the angels knew but that only God knew. (Mark 13:32) Further, on one occasion Jesus prayed to God, saying: “Let, not my will, but yours take place.” (Luke 22:42) If Jesus were the Almighty God, he would not have prayed to himself, would he? In fact, following Jesus’ death, the Scripture says: “This Jesus God resurrected.” (Acts 2:32) Thus the Almighty God and Jesus are clearly two separate persons. Even after his death and resurrection and ascension to heaven, Jesus was still not equal to his Father.

As for the “Holy Spirit,” the so-called third Person of the Trinity, this is not a person but God’s active force. John the Baptizer said that Jesus would baptize with holy spirit, even as John had been baptizing with water. Hence, in the same way that water is not a person, holy spirit is not a person. (Matthew 3:11) What John foretold was fulfilled when, following the death and resurrection of Jesus, holy spirit was poured out on his followers gathered in Jerusalem. The Bible says: “They all became filled with holy spirit.” (Acts 2:4) Were they “filled” with a person? No, but they were filled with God’s active force. Thus the facts make clear that the Trinity is not a Bible teaching. Actually, long before Jesus walked the earth gods were worshiped in groups of three, or trinities, in places such as ancient Egypt and Babylon.

If J.W's would do some independant research they would find that the term"a god" does not and CANNOT be rendered so directly from the Greek text. You have to invent it.
Secondly most of the answers I have read show a profound mis-understanding of the true nature of God,usually resorting to claims that limit God to a human time continuum, space and power. Remember He is the One who SPOKE... and everything that we can see whether by microscope, natural eye or radio telescope, came into being.
It is also good to remember that the word "God" is not the name of a person, it is the description of KIND.It describes WHAT.
Saying Jesus Christ is God describes what kind of being he is, it is not his name.
Think about this. What is the correct name for H2O.
Is it Water? Is it Steam? Or is it ice?
Please also consider this scriptures (as an example of many) Acts 20:28 And now beware! Be sure that you feed and shepherd God's flock-His church, purchased with HIS BLOOD- over whom the Spirit has appointed you as elders. (emphasis mine)_
Finally. We all need to correctly understand what death is. Many think it means someone or something ceases to exist.
However death means a separation or transition from one state to another. At death the human soul or spirit leaves the body. The person does not cease to exist.
I encourage every reader who is questioning or puzzling to read the bible in context. read the whole of a book rather than odd verses here and there. the greatest sceptics in history have changed their thinking by doing so.
Start with the New Testament, reading just a few pages at a time.
I have seen some very hardened criminals radically changed by the words of life found in there.

I don't believe in the Trinity. I believe there are 3 members of the Godhead (Father (God), Son (Christ), and the Holy Spirit. I don't think they are one in body, but one in purpose. There are many places in the scriptures that point to this, Christs birth, His baptism, all the times Christ prayed to the Father, when Christ mentioned "The Father is greater then I", and so many others.

I have been told that I'm not christian because of this belief. And that I need to be saved. Well, I have been saved, I do accept Christ as my personal Savior. I just think something different then most of the other sects of christians. I don't see anything wrong with that, I just think it's a different belief in the same principle. Yes, I believe in God also, but I just think it makes more sense that they are sperate beings.

basically from what my religion teacher tells me is this"

God "the father" chose marry to have God's son which would be Jesus. And the holy spirit is the spirit of God which is just there. This to me sounds like polytheism.

When Jesus died (who is part of God) he was telling his father (who is also God) that he was scared but Christians claim that he went willingly to the cross
but then again why would Jesus of the English Bible complain about the 'crucifixion'
("Eli! Eli! Lama sabachthani? - My God! My God! Why have You forsaken me?") [Mk 15:34]

Now think about the New Testament story of 'salvation.'
Jesus asked God NOT to put him through this ordeal.
"Father, if thou art willing, remove this cup from me; nevertheless not my will, but Yours, be done." [Luke 22:42]

this is so contradicting. when Jesus (1/3 of God) dies that is saying that 1/3 of God died and rose again. That's what humans do..so to me Christians humanize God.
I don't want to believe that a human is God.

Great question! God rose his SON Jesus. If God was alive to raise himself, then he couldn't have really died, now could he? Jesus said that no one has seen God at any time- you think that he was making that up?

You know the meaning of the word "Dwelleth" or "Dwelt"?

The word "Dwelleth" or "Dwelt" means, to live, Inherent or existing in someone or something as permanent and inseparable quality or attribute.

It is written as Jesus said, "The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself but the father that dwelleth in me, He doeth the work..."

Who does the work? God himself.

God reside in His Son, Jesus Christ.

"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us." John 1:14, KJV God's plan, the Word was make a human.

Jesus is never recorded in the Bible as saying the exact words, “I am God.” Is this a coincidence? Jesus Christ didn't or never say these word, "I Am God" in the New Testament because Jesus never believed himself to be God.

only God can raise one from the dead, right? only God would have such a power?

Father God raised Jesus from the dead
acts 3:15 You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.

look to John 2:19 &21 Jesus says he will raise himself from the dead:
2:19 Jesus replied, “Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up again.”
2:21 But Jesus was speaking about the temple of his body.

also look to Romans 8:11 the Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead:
8:11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.

Father is God
Jesus is God
Holy Spirit is God

Though I'm an atheist, and you are a Christian, this we agree on.

The Trinity basically says this -

Jesus, who is also God, impregnated his own mother with himself, told himself that he was pleased with himself when he was baptized, prayed to himself, called himself father, allowed Satan to tempt himself, sacrificed himself to himself, and while doing so asked himself why he had forsaken himself.

Riiiiigggght.
