If you are living in North America - the seasons are pretty similar in Tempeture, so bring sweaters, and some light shirts for the days where it's sunny and hot. And bring a light jacket and umbrella. That should cover you for all siturations.

Where exactly in Europe? In the Summer, England can get very hot just like most parts of the U.S. If you're traveling to Scandinavian countries, I wouldn't know because I've never been there. But Europe is usually very pleasant in the Summer and I'll doubt you'll need layers if you're not going up into the mountains or anything like that.
