I've been in this situation myself. The Tom will be ok around her for now but prior to birth and most definately during the birth he must be kept well away from her. This is easier said than done, believe me, he will go beserk whilst she is giving birth. I knew that Tom's can kill kittens so it's vital to keep him well away from her. Not only that, but if she does not feel safe and secure there will be complications. I would advise that you get your Tom to a friends house until the birth has taken place. Make sure you have a really quiet spot away from people traffic for your cat. They love to make a nest. a big cardboard box with a hole cut in it is ideal and fill it with newspaper. She will spend time tearing up the paper making her nest. This is the best thing you can do for her and it will also reassure you that if she's happily building the nest then she is happy with te spot you have chosen and will give birth there. Good luck, you're going to have such an experience watching the birth, it's truly amazing.

You will probably find that the Tom wont hurt the female but it is not uncommon for Tom's to kill the litter especially if the litter is not his.
Cat as you know are incredibly territorial and it is not uncommon for this to happen.
Even if you are sure the litter is his i would absolutely keep the Tom away from the litter when it is born as you just don't know what he is capable of.
Absolute supervision will be required as the Tom is NOT the mothering type and may feel threatened with the kittens around.
Watch out for spraying as well from the male cat as anything that upsets his nest could cause him to spray. I would get him desexed ASAP and then one mum has had her kittens totally weaned of her i would have her spayed as well

I'm sorry, but I have to ask...
Why is it you haven't gotten your animals spayed or neutered? There are so many unwanted now cats that shelters are forced to euthanize them. And yes, your tom cat will kill the kittens. If he were neutered, he would be fine around the kittens. Another issue with males that aren't neutered is often, they will begin spraying to mark their territory and once they start doing that, even if you get them neutered, the don't usually stop. Then every one of your neighbors will have cat pee all over their cars, houses, etc. where your cat will have sprayed to mark his territory.

Please get your animals fixed, so they don't make more unwanted kittens.

Yes, but after she has the litter of kittens, you should make sure that he isn't around the kittens. Tom cats will often kill kittens.
