I always heard that the blood coagulates once it is out of the human body, then how does it still stay in liquid form in the collecting bags.
Second, i also heard that HIV virus dies once it leaves it's human host, then how come people got infected from collected blood banks from stored blood. Isn't that blood out of a human host so the virus should have died ?

It has to do with the fact that the bag is a sealed air tight system Oxygen causes it to do so in the open as th HIV it can live in blood for up to 6 months or longer as it is a virus tht is constantly mutating and so it is very easy to get the HIV virus from a transfusion it is 100% fatal as there is no known cure and there are scores of diseases numbering over 300 that you can get from a transfusion think about it this way how long can you hold your breath 2-3 minutes at 5-6 you are uncounscious and over that brain dead so how long can a cell do thata second or two so after that it is dead and in a air tight bag or bottle for who knows how long so that all the Red blood cells are now dead all that is left is the diseases so now you body has to fight off those plus the original trauma why do it when there are totally safe alternatives that are much better hope that helps let me know if I can help you further best wishes Gorbalizer

The blood is stored at the correct temp and that stops it from coagulating. HIV does not die also because of the temp of the blood
