Yes. Anyone can go. All you have to do it look up in the phone book, under LDS church, then the subtitle Cannery. They are called canneries. I just did a 2 hour session there doing dry packing- where you take dry goods and put them in the cans and seal them. For some of them now, you have to do a session before you can buy, but call and check with yours. Anyone can go, not just LDS people, but call and see what they require. There are some that you can just go buy from. Also, if you go to the church website, under home and family, then provident living (welfare) there is a link that talks about the cannery. I'll post the link for you so you can just click on it. Also, if you know any LDS people around you, you can ask them about it. I found the phone number for one of the congregations in fresno. I don't know where you are, but here is the address and number.... 45 S Fowler Ave
Fresno, CA 93727, 559-323-4450. They could give you info also. Good luck on your search!!! Also, here's the address and phone number of a local food storage place CA - Fresno
Phone (559) 255-2377
Address
1425 North Rabe Avenue
Fresno , California 93727
Hope this helps!!!!!!!

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.

According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

Yes, you can go, and the prices are pretty reasonable. They provide the materials, you provide the labor to put the food in cans.

There are actually websites that LDS (and you) can order from. Just do a search, and you'll find a few. As far as the Pantries go, I don't know, I've never seen or heard of them.

I am keeping tabs on this one - I always wondered how good a job a non-Mormon could get at an LDS job center....

I don't think so.

I might be wrong, though...
