My neighbor's car was set on fire by somebody who disliked him. While his car was burning my car was damaged. It was parked right beside his car. All I have is liability so my insurance company want cover it. My company told me I would have to had comprehensive. Can I put in a claim with my neighbor's insurance company and make his company pay for the damages since his car being on fire caused damage to my car?

Nope....the arsonist is responsible for the damages to all.
In order to get his insurance to pay, you would have to prove negligence on the part of your neighbor.

No. Your neighbor was not at fault for this. Another insurance company can only pay damages if their insured is at fault. The vandal who set his car on fire is at fault. You have to go after the at fault party. So, unless you can prove who the vandal was (aka- he was arrested and charged) and want to sue him.. your sol.

You can try. It is possible that you can put it on his insurance, but very doubtful.
His car, or parts from his car, has to come in forceful contact with you car. Thus creating an accident between the two.

That is interesting, because it isn't his fault your car was damaged. Put the claim in against his liability and see what happens, that is all you can do. I would think if the arsonist can be identified, you would be suing him.
