She is 5 weeks old... and Im going crazy!
She has reflux so bad... shes on 3 different meds and still throws up!
Also the meds give her horrible gas and the cereal in her formula makes her constipated and is taking a Laxative for it, which gives her worse gas.

We alternate every other feeding with breastfeeding and bottle feeding. (Nutramigen with Rice Cereal)

Please Help... any tips or tricks???

I am so sorry you're going through it.... My first 2 kids had reflux (my last child did not) and it was pretty darn close to a living hell. ;) It's just so hard to see your little one in pain and not be able to do anything about it except walk them around, sing to them, try to comfort them the best you can. I wish I had some magic trick for you---but it sounds like you're doing everything I would suggest (the meds---we used Pepcid, the cereal inthe bottle, the Nutramigen....) The one thing I could suggest to help with the constipation/gas is to try Oatmeal cereal rather than rice cereal in her bottle. It is a trick I learned from a mom on a "reflux forum" on babycenter.com and it really helped with the constipation. The only bummer was that it isn't as fine as the rice, so the nipples would clog easier. I found that widening them with one prong of a fork helped. Also, blending the formula/oatmeal cereal in a blender, and making a big batch to refrigerate helped as well. You probably already know this, but smaller more frequent feedings are best.... (rather than big bottles spaced longer apart.) Good luck, and just hang in there. It WILL get better---just take it day by day and hopefully knowing there is a light at the end of the tunnel will get you through those really awful days (and nights!)

my daughter had that also
try to keep her as upright as you can during feedings and keep her that way for at least 25 minutes after the feeding
feed her small amounts of milk per session, no more then 2-3 oz per feeding every 2-3 hours
burp her more often
there is a special formula but I cannot remember the name that is thicker then normal formula
i know how you feel but it gets better by 10 months my daughter never threw up anymore
try to get her off the meds I found my daughter did better without them then with them also did your daughter have an ultrasound done on her stomach to see if there was another underlying problem?
sometimes it's a muscle in the stomach that doesn't close properly, you should ask your doctor.
anyway try to keep her as up right as possible
you can keep her in a baby carrier, car seat, baby swing or bouncy seat for most of the day and for naps, it worked for us and some other people I know!

I really don't know because I am not a pediatrician or anything of the sort, but my daughter went through this and the doc put her on all these meds. Then he told me to start using Enfamil AR. It is a formula with added rice already in it. She soon got to come off all those meds and started to gain back her weight.

My daughter also had acid reflux ailment. She replaced into not in any respect positioned on any drugs for it and they did not replace her formula. They informed me to make certain that she replaced into in an upright position at the same time as feeding and not in any respect to enable her lie flat until eventually 40 5 minutes - hour after she ate. This did not always artwork, each each now and then it might want to be exceedingly a lot 2 hours later and she may nevertheless have milk come out her nostril. i began giving her rice cereal in her bottle at evening at the same time as she replaced into 2 a million/2 months old. i'd do basically a small volume, and all started at another evening to enable her tummy get used to digesting it. The cereal appeared to help some. i began her on solids at 4 months it is also at the same time as she all started sitting on her own. by ability of four a million/2 months, all indicators were lengthy gone. i imagine the thicker ingredients helped remedy the priority including her being older and more beneficial evolved. if you're having complications including her dozing at evening in her crib, you at the prompt are not on my own! i tried each thing to get my daughter to sleep in her crib...I even offered 2 wedges and used them at the same time to save her higher, in spite of the undeniable fact that it wasn't adequate. i did not do not ignore that the reason why she didn't want to be in her crib replaced into because it replaced into uncomfortable for her. after I figured it out, I basically enable her sleep in her swing each evening (it replaced into off, no longer transferring). She all started dozing by the evening at 4 weeks. i replaced into demanding that she may not in any respect sleep in her crib, yet at 4 a million/2 months at the same time as she confirmed no more beneficial indicators of reflux, i tried her crib back and she took to it basically superb. She slept all evening the first time I positioned her in it and has been there considering that! in any case, sorry that I rambled on, yet desire this helps! sturdy success, i know that's frightening, in spite of the undeniable fact that it receives more beneficial useful as she receives older.
