I purchased LP moulding and finishing nails don't work since it just goes right through and doesn't hold it down. Someone mentioned glue to hold it but what kind of glue would work with this? I recently re - did my hardwood floors and need this moulding to cover where the floors meet the walls. Any suggestions?

Gluing would be a good idea unless the moulding had to be removed some day and there would be a lot of chunks of glue and foam stuck to the wall. I install a lot of this moulding with a finish nailer. Sometimes it takes a little patience to find the right setting, but I think you can make it work. If you have an air nailer try turning your compressor pressure way down. If it's a battery operated finish nailer there should be a dial on the side. Also using a longer nail may help. If the nail is very short say, 1 1/4" or so its not going to have much to slow it down on the other side of the moulding. Hope this helps you out a little.

Go to home Depot... they have a styro glue in a caulking tube size in the paint and caulking section... specifically for styro... any other will eat/melt the styro and cost you more again to buy again... good luck!

Liquid Nails, used sparingly.
