When the bible says "for dust you are and to dust you shall return" it's talking about the physical death and not the spiritual death because it's true when your body dies it decays and turns back into dust. But Jesus mentions a place called hell and it's a literal place of torment where the souls who rejected the love of the truth go. Well, this is what I believe to be true anyways. As for heaven, I don't really know what It will be like. I'm sure it's nice.

I like C.S. Lewis' thoughts:

"If we insist on keeping Hell (or even earth) we shall not see Heaven: if we accept Heaven we shall not be able to retain the smallest and most intimate souvenirs of Hell....
In that sense it will be true for those who have completed the journey (and for no others) to say that good is everything and Heaven everywhere. But we, at this end of the road, must not try to anticipate that retrospective vision. If we do, we are likely to embrace the false and disastrous converse and fancy everything is good and everywhere is Heaven.

"But what, you ask, of earth? Earth, I think, will not be found by anyone to be in the end a very distinct place. I think earth, if chosen instead of Heaven, will turn out to have been, all along a region in Hell: and earth, if put second to Heaven, to have been from the beginning a part of Heaven itself."

Hell DEFINITELY exists, because the world has been blinded spiritually, people do not understand the spiritual world. Where do you think your dreams occur? Not in your head. They occur in the spiritual world.

There is a spiritual world as well as there is a physical world. Every thing that happens in the Physical has first happened in the Spiritual. Hell is real, Jesus has allowed some people to go there and come back to tell everyone that it is real. Just the same as Heaven is real. Get the book Heaven is So Real. All you need to do is have your spirit born again. Then God will recognise you as one of his children.

The only way to do that is to ask Jesus to take away all your sins and then ask Him to live in your spirit. Then you will be born again, then you will go to Heaven. Thats what the Bible says.

Heaven has 7 levels, God's throne room, and 4 levels under God's throne room. Then you have the Garth for new spirits and Paradise for clean spirits
================= The Gulf =====================
Hell has 2 levels, purgatory for unclean and evil spirits and the lake of fire for demons you can read about them in John 3:19 and The story of Lazraus and the rich man.

Hell is the grave but there is another hell that is spoken of in the book of Enoch. A place where some will find themselves for one last chance to choose. Heaven is the presence of God.

I guess one's belief in Heaven and Hell is very much related to one's belief in the existence of a God or a supreme entity, watching over our us during our lifetime.

Personally, I believe in Heaven and Hell. However, my own perception of H&H is not in the Dante's "The Divine Comedy"-sense, but rather in abstract sense of Punishment and Reward. The reason for my disbelief in Dante's-like visions ( which are usually what a person can extract from a superficial reading of the Abrahamic books, or similar religions / philosophies ) is that I belief these visions were originally meant to be only metaphors for what to expect in the after-life. However, when I think about it, I find that what would please me the most, and or my worst fears, differ from those of other's, and are mostly unique to me. Meaning, what each of us would like to find in heaven or fear of finding in hell will surely depend on our own dreams, desires or fears in life. Thus what I think exists is a tailored heaven and hell for each of us, based on our personalities.

Finally, the reason for my belief in the existence of Heaven or Hell in the first place, stems from my belief in the existence of an eternal justice, which would not leave our goodness in our lifetime unrewarded. IMHO, if regardless of how good I may aspire to be during my life, I would end up facing the same fate of those who did the worst of things in their life, and simply return with them to dust, this would be a rather a pretty unfair resolution...

No, im an aithest, and even though i dont believe in a religion or god, dosent mean that i dont belong on this part of the form, like a christian said in another form, so i think that when oyu die nothin happens, sad but true, and i hear people say i rather believe there is somethin then nothin, and thats why they believe then maybe they should think about it for a minute, becasue if thats all your faith is based on, then you trully arnt a christian, i need something more then that to make me believe,

Yes i Believe in Heaven and Hell.

We were brought into this world for a purpose, not just humans living their lives and then dying and that it is.
If this is the case, then who will punish the evil doers among us? Humans? Prison? etc.... NO. So there is a Hell to take care of the evil-doers and then there is a Heaven to whom the good-doers enter.

This makes a human look forward to living his life in a better way rather than feel like he/she is living for no purpose/reason.

Yes, I believe they both are real and exsist as the Bible describes them.
A great resource on heaven is a dvd by a preacher named Jesse Duplantis. He was given a trip to heaven back in the '80s. It's called, "Heaven: Close encounters of the God Kind."

There's also a book available by the same title. Very moving!!
