I say go for it! Guys like when girls take the first step, it takes away the pressure that is usually always placed on the guy. Some guys find it attractive for a woman to ask them out, it shows that they are secure and confidant with themselves. He may be very flattered by the gesture, as you would be if he asked you out.
If he is the type of guy that would be "weirded" out by you asking him out, and does not give you a chance for going out on a limb for him, then he is not worth your time. Wouldn't you rather be with a more open minded person? Because by him being "weirded" out from you asking him out, actually brings about some other topics that you may want to worry about more. A guy's response can tell you about what kind of person he is, it can represent his feeling about woman and their "place".
Do exactly what you want to do, and never allow society's "standards" to dictate your decisions. Really, once you leave high school, those standards do not exist (even then they they never really existed, but it is fun to amuse people sometimes)!

no its not weird for the girl to ask the guy out, thats how my prom date did it and now we are going strong. but traditionaly it the guy that asks the girl. but allot of th time the guy is to chicken to ask girls to go on dates.

We're not in the 60s. If you really wanna go out with him, just be straight and ask him out. Don't lose time as he might fall for someone else.

in high school i wrote a note to my hubby who i had a crush on then... and it felt weird at first then i found out he had had a secret crush on me since 9th grade and thought he'd never have a chance with me.. but he said yes and we've been together for 5years and married for 4years and loving everyday... so yeah girls can ask guys out.

Not at all. I think that we are all so accustomed to a man asking us out that we just assume that it's odd for the opposite sex to do so. I actually asked my boyfriend out. He said yes to :)

well, sweetie it's not wierd to ask a guy out. infact some guys like it when the girl makes the first move(even if you ask your friend to ask him out for you) it makes it easier on them if they like you.
