Once, there was an Indian chief with three wives, all of whom happened to be pregnant at the same time. The first wife had a baby boy and the chief was elated...he was so happy, that he built her a teepee made of deer hide.
Wife number two had her child a few days later..another boy. The ecstatic chief built her a teepee made of antelope hide.
The third wife had her child a couple of days later. This time, however, no one was told what the baby was. The chief erected a two story teepee made of hippopotamus hide. He then challenged the tribe to guess what sex the infant was and why he had built a two story hippo teepee...... but none could guess.
Finally, the wisest brave steps forward and says, "The child is a boy." The chief nods and asks him how he came to this conclusion.
The brave replied, "The squaw of the hippopotamus is equal to the sons of the squaws of the other two hides."
