I am trying to find an audio wiring diagram for an 04 or 05 cheve avalanche. Wants to install an aftermarket deck and need to know what wires go where. Thanks!

I would strongly advise you to get an adapting wire harness and not try to cut off the factory plug. Some extra difficulties that may apply to your particular vehicle are:

--The factory radio generates all audible warning chimes for the vehicle; if you remove it you will lose the chimes unless you use a special module that takes over that function, or unless you relocate the factory radio to keep it wired into the system and hook up another speaker to the chime output.

--The factory radio is controlled by the vehicle data bus system, so there's no key-switched accessory wire in the radio harness to use for power. Aftermarket radios need to be wired to a different power source unless the door-chime module is used (it also generates a switched power output).

--If you have Onstar, it works through the factory radio and will be disabled if you remove it.

--If you have a Bose system, it requires either integrating or bypassing a separate amplifier.

Replacing the radio can be done; but it will be much easier if you buy the right adapter interfaces before you do any cutting.
