Opiates can cause a range of side effects, some of these may disappear as you develop a tolerance to the drug. But if the benefits of taking it are greater than the side effect than it is probably worth persevering. If you take opiates on an empty stomach this can cause nausea. Also if your back pain is chronic, and you are likely to need opiates long term, then it might be worth asking your GP is you can switch to Tramadol, which generally has fewer side effects.

I hope you start to feel better soon.

Best wishes, Mel.

Nausea is one of the possible side effects of Co-codamol. I was on it for hip joint pain but was ok as far as side effects go. I don't have the instructions here but have a read of them and they should confirm what i'm saying.
I presume they are prescription strength so would recomend you go back to your doctor asap for an alternative pain relief medicine.
If they are over the counter strength then get your pharmacist to suggest an alternative or visit the doctor.
