I've got a cavity in one of my front teeth that I've been trying to ignore but it's getting more noticeable and one of my friends commented on it the other day, so I think I really need to think about getting it fixed now, but I'm scared - what's it like getting a filling in a front tooth? And can you tell once it's been done?

I got fillings in both my front teeth (tooth coloured) and i didn't need a local anaesthetic to get them done - it was not painful at all!!!!! they use a laser thingy to set the filling once they are finished, and this is the only uncomfortable part..... I had a blister on my gum for 2 days afterwards, but honestlt, its nothing to worry about, I hate going to the dentist and I coped fine with it! Ask your dentist to explain everything as they are doing it and then there wont be any surprises!!!

Good luck xxx

Its not that a big deal!Yes you will need an injection, but if your dentist is good, you should not feel too much at all. I had one today,no problem. Ignoring your tooth has probably made things worse in as much as,there will be more to do. Had you gone as soon as you noticed it,it would have been much better. If you have a white filling, no, it will not be very noticeable at all. Good luck, hope it all goes well for you.

They'll either use a white filling or cap it. It'll look fine. The worst bit is front of mouth injections. Bottom jaw isn't to bad but top front feels like the needle is going up the inside of your nose. That said, 2 seconds and thats done and from that point it'll be no problem.

nicely I actually have a gap and that i hated it turning out to be up, yet i love it now and some human beings discover it eye-catching they can positioned filling all the way down to close it over yet my mom (sensible lady) wouldnt enable it incase the filling replaced in colour, at the same time as i replaced into 12 the dentist suggested that it may close itself as its no longer a huge hollow by ability of the time i replaced into 17 and im no longer a procedures off 30 and its nevertheless right here

I have the same prob. I do work in a club where the black lights do pick up the white filling. Mine is on the bottom so you cant see when I smile. Ask your dentist if the filler is sensative to uv or black light. Otherwise you cant tell at all.

It all depends on the tooth but usually it should be really comfortable with a local anaesthetic and your dentist will use a tooth-coloured filling material. It should look better than the hole! : )

i was dreading getting my front tooth filled,i thought it would be painful, but it was no different from any other tooth, and the dentist matched the filling with the colour of the tooth, so go for it.
