What shape is it. If is is round and sort of indented it is probably a mouth ulcer or canker sore. Some suggestions: change to a baking soda toothpaste. It can help change the alkalinity of your mouth slightly so it can heal. Make sure to avoid very spicy or acid foods (e.g. orange juice, tomatoes, hot sauce) that will aggravate the sore. There are canker sore products sold that will form a bandage over the sore. You can also "paint" the sore with a cotton swab and an antacid such as mylanta (the plain white stuff only). The sore should resolve in 3- 5 days. If it doesn't please see your doctor or dentist for further evaluation. Also, please remember that this is an opening in your mouth that could serve as an entrance point for disease and take precautions against STD's. Best wishes.

Canker sores are very painful. Rinse your mouth 2-3 times a day with warm salt water. This will help the sore heal faster and is very inexpensive.

It's called a Canker Sore. Whenever I get one, I use some Colgate Peroxyl to numb and help heal it. It usually lasts a week.

It is either a canker sore or a cold sore. Use abreva, or rinse with salt water. Carmex can also help.
