I have a TaylorMade R5 N driver at 8.5 degrees loft. I have the stock stiff shaft in it right now. My swing speed is 116-120 mph, and I need an X shaft for certain. I am having trouble deciding what shaft I should go with. I have tried the Grafalloy Blue and did not like it. I prefer a mid-high launch angle. If you are a good golfer (8 handicap or lower), and you have some experience with shafts, please give any advice!!

Aldila NVS is the best shaft out there. It has a mid launch angle. I would recommend a heavier shaft such as 85 or 95 grams for your swing speed. I promise you will love this shaft.

A year ago I switched to the ProForce V2 in my driver and 3 wood and I love them. They have better tip stiffness and have a med-high flight. I've also noticed that this year alot of the pros are using them as well.

Try this site on GolfSmith for possibilities. It is their on-line shaft selection guide.
