Is it safe to eat a fermented cantaloupe?

you know when the cantaloupe starts to taste like nail polish remover. i was just wondering, its not like i like to eat the cantaloupe when it tastes like that.

Safe, probably -- it just means it is over-ripe.

It is not going to kill you, but it will not taste good
