A rabbit went into a bar and asked for a carrot, and the barman threw him out. The rabbit went into the same bar the following day and asked for a carrot, and the barman threw him out. When he went into the bar on the third day the barman said, "If you ask for a carrot I will nail your paws to the bar." On the fourth day, the rabbit went into the bar and asked for a hammer and a packet of nails. The barman said, "This is a pub, we haven’t got any nails." So the rabbit said "Good. Can I have a carrot please?"

There are alot of jokes that start that way. they use that as a segway into a scene and trying to set a relaxed setting. The one i always wanted to know about is "there once was a lady from Nantucket."
