It's 'rumoured' to 'bounce back' radar signals emitted from the speed camera. I'm a driver for a living. I've NEVER heard of anyone proving this. Most drivers just keep an eye on the speedo, and there would be no need for urban myths such as these.

Absolutely NOT if anything it makes your image even better most speed camera's whether radar or laser usually target your headlamps or number plate as these reflect the beam better so a CD would have the same affect
The chance of 100% radar jamming is almost impossible and anything near this figure would cost upwards of £350
so save the CD as a coaster

no it does not the only way to stop a speed camera is not to speed , allthough on top gear they beat the camera only by speeding through i belive at about 175 miles an hour you actually beat the second flash which calculates the speed over distance ,( the white markers on the road )allthough i doubt it would work with digital cameras nor would i like to try 175 on our roads

no, not at all. believe it or not, most laser/radar beams can't penetrate glass. if the radar camera is IR (infrared) it will read the car itself, and if it's laser, it'll read the metal from your from license plate. the reason that beams can't penetrate glass is because the glass, it distorts the beam and never allows it to shot back properly and reads on the device that nothing is there. If your car was made out of glass, then you could probably get away with it, but on the cd thing, the answer is no. and actually, in some states, you can get a ticket for it because it is an obstruction of view.

No this is an urban legend, however if a traffic cop sees you with a cd hanging from your rear view mirror you may end up with a fine for perverting the law.

no. Neither does holding your keys up, wrapping the car in tin foil, or any other silly idea like that. The only way to beat a radar camera is to use an active radar jammer, and they are all illegal.

No....the mythbusters did a whole episode where they tested speed camera myths and nothing came any where near it. If you google mythbusters you may be able to find the vid and see for yourself.

At the point where the photograph is taken the main point that the camera is on is your number plate, so not it does not stop it snapping you.

I have only heard of one thing stopping them, in a few US films you may have seen sports cars, with what looks like a black rubber coating across the front to protect from stone chips. I heard that this was made from the same radar absorbing material as the B2 stealth bomber. Radar absorbing means the cameras cannot detect you.
I think that it was made illegal in the UK.
