I have a big problem!
My teeth are really crocket, and i think, that i need braces. But my parents don't agree. They think that praces are too expensive, and they keep telling me taht i have a fine and unique smile, cause they don't have the money for braces.
This is how my teeth look:

what do you think? Is my smile "fine and unique" or do you agree with me, that braces would be great? And for how long would you think that I will need them? Please be honest!

My basically look like yours and my dentist said I need braces. However, there's not really anything you can do unless your parents pay for it, or you pay for it when you turn 18. Tell them this is something you really want and that most dentists offer monthly payment plans, so it'll be easier to pay.
Best of luck.

I am not an orthodontist or dentist but, I think you need braces. Your teeth aren't that straight and it looks like you have a bit of over-lapping. Some people needs braces to help their teeth and it makes them feel better as a person. Talk to your parents and tell them how you really feel. Show them what people on here are saying. The thing that sucks is... if your parents don't want to pay for them... you don't have a choice unless you have a lot of money yourself. My parents made me get braces (which I didn't mind cause I had an over-bite) but... they changed my life completly and I feel like such a better person w/ better teeth.
Good Luck!!

your teeth do not look that bad actually. Your dentist is the only one who can tell you if you really need braces or not. My fiance never had braces and his teeth are completely straight. Also you can look at the ada.org website and search for DENTAL colleges in your state. Call them and find out the prices for braces because at a dental college the price can be MUCH less than at a private orthodontist would charge.

well i'm not a dentist but i'd worn braces b4. i think in ur case it would be great if u can have braces but its not a necessity. bcoz getting braces at a private clinic sure need a lot of money (around rm5000 from the beginning till the end of the process) and if ur goin to a government clinic then u have to get in the queue, which is quite long.plus, i dont think ur teeth are hurting ur lips or inner cheek walls. n trust me, getting it on hurts A LOT. i have a friend whose teeth looks like yours n he really has a great smile. he's studying in London now n i havent heard people talking bout his teeth.so, i dont think it will be an impediment to ur future success. cheers.

I personally think that you should go for braces, only if your not happy with the look of your teeth. It is up to your parents really because they would probably pay for them. If they did agree then they would be very impressed and glad that they did it. Best of luck.

Well, unfortunately, it's up to your parents to take you to an orthodontist and pay for your braces. So, if they choose not to, all you can really do is wait until you're 18 and out on your own and then you can do what you want.

Yeah, I think you need braces. You know, you and your parents could be put on a payment plan and pay like 100 a month or if they refuse, you can do it yourself when you get older.
