Gout is as much a internal problem and external. Eat healthily and use Apple Cider Vinegar topically along with certain oils (coconut oil) as a light moisturizer if you're having drying problems.

I have had a few older friends suffer from gout, and they had to change their diet. It seems that too much rich food, will activate gout, so stay away from all rich foods, and seriously think about changing your diet.

2 things for sure...absolutely no alcohol and keep you sodium intake to a minimum....Gout is crystalized deposits of uric acid, so lots of water and foods high in antioxidants will give you the best shot of avoiding another bout of gout.
