I woke up from a quick nap yesterday with an irritation under my eyelid. I had slept with my contact in (it was only a couple hours, i do not sleep with them in regularly) so I immediately took them out and tried washing out my eye.

It feels like there is something stuck under my top eyelid and is scratching my eye (my eye is red and hurts like hell).

I have tried some research online and think it may be a 'stie' but from what I have seen I am unsure if this can occur on the underside of my top eyelid (not by my eyelashes).

If anyone has any experience or can offer an explanation that would be great. I will hold out for another day to see if it gets better - otherwise doctor.

THANKS

I don't wear contacts, but have has a similar irritation. I asked a pharmacist, and he recommended an eye wash. You can usually find it at all drug stores. I use Collyrium for Fresh Eyes Eye Wash:

You may also have a "scratch" on the surface of your eye. So id the eye was doesn't help, talk to an eye doctor....Hope this helps!

Sounds like an irritation from the lens pressure. Hopefully it's not a tear. Until you can get to a Doctor, you should keep the eye lubricated with just P.H. balanced eye drops. Try not to touch your eyes at this time. Only the Doctor has the magnification and experience to check it out. I say spend the bucks, you can't undo a mistake with the eyes. Too much to see on this great Planet.
Onward..

I would say your contacts have irritated your eye. Leave them out for a week or so.
