I bought it b/c it says it will wash out in 28 shampoo's but when I opened it it says if you choose a color that is darker then your natural color it will not. Does this mean NEVER or just NOT in 28 washes?

It depends on your hair and what the colour of your hair is. If you have light hair and are using a darker colour then it isn't going to wash out in 28 washes and it wont return to the natural colour it was at all. It will fade over time as it grows out though. But if you have darker hair then the colour will be more likely to fade to the colour you started with because it has more colour in the hair and is harder to stain. Also if you use a red colour don't ever think it will wash out to it's natural colour because everyone knows that red is the hardest colour to strip a hair of!

If You Use A Semi-Permanent Color That Is Darker than Your Natural Color It May Take Longer Than The Usual Amount Of Time/Washes To Remove It But,-It Will Come Out Eventually. If You Want To Try The Color, Go Ahead And Try It. But Remember, If You Use A Very Dark Or Bright Shade On Light/Very Light Hair It May Have A Strange Hue.-Example: Burgundy/Plum For Dark Brown Hair On Light Blonde Could Become A Bright Violet/Purple And Fade To Pink/Lilac At Some Point Before Washing Away. These Colors Are Often "Transparent, No-Base" Colors. Which Mean They Depend Upon The Correct Natural Base Color Of Your Own Hair, And Simply Put A Clear "Toning" Color Over It To Achive The Shade On The Box. (P.S.- If You Have "Staining" That Dosen't Want To Come Out, Use This Recipe: 1Tbs. "Powder Bleach", 2 Tbs. Peroxide Or Creme Developer And 1Oz. Conditioner Or Creamy Conditioning Shampoo. Put This On Wet Hair, Work In Well To "Stained" Areas, Watch Carefully For Stain To Dissapear, Then Rinse Very Well,Shampoo, And Condition.) Good-Luck!

I'd be very careful. My daughter went black from her natural blond with #2 and it never truly washed out. She had to grow it out to get rid of all of it.

if your hair is porous (dry) it might not shampoo out completely - EVER. it might need to be grown out to get it ALL gone.

semi-permanent color does have some developer in it. only like 2.5%, but it still has some in it. regular developer is like 5-7%.
