YES YES YES YES YES Don't let anyone make you feel guilty for grabbing a power nap in the afternoon. I'm a SAHM and my kids who aren't in school know that after lunch, they watch a video or take their own nap or play quietly in their room (depending on age) while mommy has her rest time. Then my coffee-----THEN I can get on with the day!

Lots of adults do need and take a nap daily. I think the first thing for you to do is to rule out ill health. Make an appointment with your Doctor and make sure you do not have a health problem( such as low iron) You might even suffer from sleep apnea. Check all out and if you get a "clean bill" of health than could be you are a person that needs that nap in the afternoon. Remember you are Mother, have a house to run, play Doctor, run a cab service. Well you get the idea. Take care of yourself first so you can take care of your family.

my fiance is an avid napper--lucky we own our own business, huh?
I would say he naps at least 4-5 days a week for at least an hour each time--sometimes longer--and he is certainly happier and harder-working afterwards. He's 46. We work very long days, though, in the construction industry--no 9 to 5 here!
I nap occasionally (I'm 38), but only for a half hour at a time. I think it is very refreshing and I am sharper at my work because of it. We see it as a real luxury, along with being able to be more flexible with time off. It is a great way to live and I am grateful for it.
I have 3 boys too--my youngest is 14 months and I work mostly at home. He naps a lot too! :)
I wouldn't go back to my clock-punching non-napping days for anything.

I used to nap in the afternoons during college. I found it helped raise my energy levels, helped me sleep better at night and made studying easier. But work has totally killed my afternoon nap, and now I have to have a coffee or a tea to keep me going. Take the naps if your body is asking for them.

Sounds normal to me. You get 7 hours, doctors recommend 8. You have two children, so your days tend to get hectic and busy. Taking a nap seems necessary. If your sleeping OK at night, naps are perfectly fine. You're healthy.

I am with you on this one. I took an hour nap every afternoon now that I am preg I definitely take one. I don't see that there is anything wrong with it. Us stay a home moms do plenty of work and get tired too.

Studies have shown that adults taking a 15 to 20 minute nap every afternoon can actually be very beneficial. It's a way of rejuvenating yourself.

yes it is perfectly normal for an adult to need to take a nap. even if your kids go to school you still may not get enough sleep at night and you have to run around with them when they get out of school. when your an adult your body tends to get old (no offense) and you need more sleep.

It is very common for adults, mean & women to get tired around 2pm. People who work and stay home alike.
Nothing wrong with taking your afternoon nap, you are fortunate that you can be home to do so! People at work wish they could crawl under or on top of their desk to catch a quick nap :-)
