Seems as if my cat is losing some hair on his belly and now on his ear. He is indoor ONLY and does not seem to be sick or have any mites or bugs. Could it just be his aging???

I've had cats all my life...I've never known one to lose hair because of aging... just.shedding hair because of the weather turning warmer. I did have one pet who was losing hair on her leg, and it turned out to be due to a tumor she had(she was 17 at the time).
I would take your cat to a vet as soon as you can to see what's up.

Have you ever seen him scratching his ear like a dog with fleas? That part would probably be caused by dry skin. Give him some fish oil on top of his food and the dry skin will go away in a week or two. I don't know about the belly though, i would need to give your cat a checkup. If he keeps losing hair, go to the vet and get a checkup. Good Luck
And no, cats do not lose hair with age.

Depends on how old the cat is. They can tend to lose fur as they get to about 15 years old. If the cat is younger I would take it to the vet to check it out. The cat seems to be losing fur where it is normal for a cat to lose the fur, so it may be nothing. But, personally, I find there is never too small a reason to check it out with a vet. One time I did have that problem and it was serious. If you love your cat, do the best for him, get him a check up.

Not usually. Depending on the cat's age you may need to buy food for older cats or indoor cats. As for the ears, you may want to treat him with ear mite medicine since he could have just contracted them and doesn't show any advanced signs of them yet.

Extra scratching will result in fur loss. Is kitty doing a lot of scratching lately?

Is kitty dealing with flea's?

Stress will cause a cat to pull out/bite off chunks of fur. Loud noises that upset kitty (including music), arguing, changes in the household, new animals, people, etc.

Once ALL medical issues are dismissed then it can be narrowed down to emotional/anxiety type disorders.

If it is NOT emotional/anxiety then it HAS to be old age.

Like people cats/dogs can go bald so to speak. Time for some "Kitty Rogaine"~~

If the hair loss has no underlying medical cause (sickness), you may have to change your cat's diet. Cat's nutritional needs change as they age. Do some research on the best support foods to give your senior cat.

some cat's do lose their fur, mostly because they have a tounge like sandpaper, but some times they can get mange which is a little bug that can be transfered from a human who has an animal that has it already, and hasn't washed their hands,so they transfere it to your cat and your cat grooms its self therefore it spread's,i hope this answer is what you are looking for.

Yes, they do, the color also alters, becoming greyish.
But by your description, it may be a fungus. My cat had this problem some weeks ago. I took him to the vet, bought the prescribed medicine (something like a gel), and now he is okay.
Do not worry, the vet told me rthis is very common and easy to treat.

Hair loss is not a normal part of aging. You should have your vet check him out. There can be many causes of hair loss - allergies and hypothyroidism are two that come to mind.
