My parents are very strict and it drives me crazy!! I am very responsible and I haven't done anything to make them think that I'm not. Sometimes, I just want to go to the mall or see a movie with my friends, but it is impossible! It isn't like I want to go out EVERYDAY!! I'm 15, and I live in a pretty safe area, so I don't see what the problem is...is there anything you think I can say to my parents to get them to let me hang out with my friends occasionally?

Be sure to introduce your friends to your parents. If possible, try to have your parents meet the other parents as well. Plan to be at the mall in the daytime. You could go for the matinee movie instead of hanging out at night, because that's when parents really worry. If you have a cell phone, remind them that you can be reached and that you can also reach them in emergency. Ask your parents to drop you off and pick you up. Once you show them that you are able to handle your business, they should start to relax a bit.

It probably isnt you the parents dont trust........its the rest of the world.
Try getting them to let you have a few friends over for a movie and pizza. Maybe if they meet your friends they will be more apt to let you hang out with them.
The world is very unsafe these days and some parents
tend to get mixed up being overprotective and being too strict.

My parents were against mall crawls and they were right to think so. Malls are not a constructive venue for kids.
There was a rule in our house that our outtings had to have substance, like as you suggested the movies. Try doing a load of dishes then ask to go out.
But then I rarely had time for any of that since I had so much on the go including sports and homework.

Your parents are not thinking that you are going to do something wrong. They are not trusting the others out there in this world. You are lucky to have parents that care for you. Most parents don't care where their children are. Just because you are 15 doesn't mean that they care any less.

Bribe 'em! E.g. "LET ME OUT OR I'LL THROW YOUR MOBILE IN THE BIN!" JOKES. Sorry. I'm only 11 but i know how you feel. All my friends can do what they want when they want and I'm invited i can't go! Don't want to imagine what it'll be like for me when I'm 15!

Just sit down with them and tell them that you would like to start seeing more of your friends. Tell them that you haven't been in trouble and you think that they have raised you to not get in trouble and you feel you are resposible enough and have earned a chance to prove yourself...
