I'm an EX-smoker, I stopped smoking in november last year, and that was without the help of over expensive quit smoking patches. I done it as they say COLD TURKEY. And I did not find it that hard to do, so don't believe all what the adverts say.

Well i used to be a smoker for like three years and i quit succesfully!!! It was really hard it took 4 times before the last to actually quit. And on top of that i quit cold turkey, so it was even crazier. IT takes a very good support system!!! I mean my boyfriend really helped me..."Babe come on no Smoking, it's ok you'll get over your cravings!!"I ate a lot of sunflower seeds when i would have cravings...i always drank lots of water, and tried to keep myself busy. Come online and answer questions..Lol.But they do say it takes up to 7 times to actually quit smoking..so don't get too hard on yourself...Just keep trying and have people around you that don't smoke. Good luck

I am a smoker I have tried to give up twice once for two months and once for five months. Both times I felt great and have no idea why I started again.

The last time I gave up I just drank heaps of water I was really surprised at how much money I saved.
Good luck I am planning on setting a date soon as well to give up ....for good!

I agree,it's disgusting but I am a part-time smoker (if there is such a thing) I can't resist a cigarette with a beer (I know -2 vices!!)My partner is a definate non-smoker but she doesn't mind me smoking when we go for a night out as she says she'll come home smelling of smoke anyway. The smoking ban in July won't bother me though cos if no-one else is smoking then I won't crave it

I smoked over 20 a day for a few years and then gave up on 10th december 2005. I didnt decide to give up until I was on my last ciggarette of my packet. I did it cold turkey and it was really hard to begin with but it got easier and I felt better and better.

I still get the odd craving but I just think about something else instead - Im now one of those reformed smokers that gets really annoyed by people crowding round the doors in places smoking as I have got to walk through a cloud of smoke and end up stinking of it - disgusting.

Hope you end up giving up. Remember people dont stop a diet just because they have one cake so you dont need to give up giving up just because you have one ciggarette.

I,m an ex smoker, smoked just about everything that could be smoked. One day started to notice my urine a shade of red, took no notice of it, no pain or discomfort at all. Wife see,s it also give,s me the hard time to see Dr. Long story short, i had Bladder cancer, thanks to wife i am now ok. But if i left it another year or two , i would not be here now. See ,thanks to wife. It was caught in time but i am still having to go one time a year for the rest of my days for check ups. That entails a cycoscopie, a long thin wire is passed down my penis into my bladder to look to see if the cancer has not returned. This type of cancer has a 60/40 chance of returning. I hope this story will help you to stop smoking, it,s not wrong to smoke, just an expensive way to destroy your health.

I am an ex smoker. I smoked from the age of 8 to 45, and one day decided to give it up , went on the patch and never smoked another cig. Anyone can quit if they truly want to quit.

i neva smoked - I was the look out at school. All my relatives said they'd give my £50 if i didn't smoke when i was 18 it worked, I went to barcelona with the money My mum smoked and then one day she stopped, she didn't smoke for 3 years and has just started again.
My step dad used the patches, gum, and that plastic nicotine pipe thing. That was successful. If you really one to give persevere it will be worth it not to have bad breath yellow fingers.
A girl at work smokes and I can smell her soo bad, she has a *** b4 she gets in my car as well and i think thats really ignorant cos it makes my car smell too.

I was a smoker and I know is disgusting but when you like to smoke, who cares, you enjoy it. l like to smoke after a beer or after a meal, but I got in love with this girl who is asthmatic and I could not smoke in front of her so I just quit. I only smoke for 5 years so it wasn't to bad, it wasn't easy either but I had to do it. I think the first thing you need to do to quit smoking is finding a real reason of why quit. My health is better now, I used to get sick and it took longer to cure, yet now I hardly get Seka, is true I use Transfer Factor and Super detox, so that help me a tremendously. I am glad I stop and good luck to you.
